Borgo Pio

The Vatican and the church of Saint Peter, which was originally built by the emperor Constantino the Great, are known all over the world, from North to South, from Siberia to the mountains of Nevada. To say a few words about its history is therefore useless, if you think about the incomparable influence it had on the history and culture of the whole planet, both in the Catholic and non Catholic areas.
So we'll talk here just about one curious thing: the guards of the Pope are all Swiss citizens, they must be Catholic of course, and they are doing here their military service for two years.

The apartment is located a few steps from St Peter's church, in the ancient and vivid quarter of Borgo Pio.
. The ancient center can be reached with a nice five minutes walk, passing by the magnificient Sant'Angelo's Castle.
To reach the apartmnet from Fiumicino airport you should take train line FR1 and go out in the Termini Central railway station. Then take metro line "A" and go out at "Ottaviano" stop. Finally walk for about 500 meters.
