 | Located in the heart of Florence is the charming MartinDago B&B. You will find us in a part of the city that still retains the typical and traditional feel of a Florence that has elsewhere largely disappeared.
Within a short walk from our building, you will find the splendid Basilica of Santa Croce, the Jewish Synagogue, the grocery market in Piazza Ghiberti, and the colourful Pulci [flea market], a heaven for amateur antique collectors.
The beautiful church of St. Ambrogio is so close by that just leaning out of our windows you can almost touch it. Strolling through lively streets brings you quickly to the Duomo, the Piazza Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery and other famous museums of the city. Returning to our home, you will find welcoming comfort in our rooms with either exposed beam or frescoed ceilings, several with loft sleeping areas. | | All beds are queen-sized, some with wrought iron canopies; additional furnishing include well upholstered chairs and sofas. All rooms have private baths and air conditioning [See detailed descriptions of rooms for specific layouts]. The breakfast will be served from 8.30 to 10.30 a.m., at the family dining room, where you may spend your time conversating with the other guests.
Ancient stairs climb to a wide and beautiful panoramic terrace, with a view on the city and the surrounding hills: this is a lovely place for sunbathing, chatting and spending your time relaxing and enjoying the fantastic scenery. |

In our neighbourhood, many small craft studios and characteristic shops still thrive. All tastes can be satisfied nearby including bars, discoteques, and restaurants ranging from the internationally renown to undiscovered local trattorias specialising in classic Tuscan cuisine.
Within a short walk from our building, you will find the splendid Basilica of Santa Croce, the Jewish Synagogue, the grocery market in Piazza Ghiberti, and the colourful Pulci [flea market], a heaven for amateur antique collectors. | | Directions | Arriving by the "Autostrada del sole - A1" coming from the south, take exit "Firenze Sud" end drive toward the center throught the avenues; at the first trafic-light, turn left (via Duca degli Abruzzi), after 100 meters, turn right (viale Giovine Italia), after 30 meters at the trafic light, cros the avenue and take via dell'Agnolo, turn right to via S.Verdiana and get to piazza Ghiberti, where you find a parking place close to our bed and breakfast. Coming from the north by the "Autostrada del sole - A1" or by "Pisa/Genova - A11", take exit "Firenze Nord" and drive toward the center throught the avenues; after piazza Beccaria (viale Giovine Italia), at the first trafic light, turn right to via dell'Agnolo then again right to via S.Verdiana toward piazza Ghiberti, where you find a parking place close to our bed and breakfast. | | Transportation | Railway station and the bus stations are very closely located.
Take eletric bus "A" in front of the central railway station of S.M.Novella and get off at Piazza dei Ciompi; also bus "14" , from the railway station, take toward Via de' Macci: get off at the third stop in via Ghibellina, called Ghibellina 05. | | Airport | Florence - 6 km |
